Stand-out offers, bundling Substacks, Love Snacks, more domain development opportunities, ...
Hey,
this is Jakob Greenfeld, author of the Business Brainstorms newsletter - every week I write this email to help you level up your entrepreneurial game and discover better opportunities.
Let's dive into today's ideas, trends, and opportunities.
💡 Opportunities
“Business idea: A daycare that charges $25 per hour per kid and you can drop your kids off Thu-Sat 4-11pm. Overnight for $300 and pick them up by 10am the next day.” - Nick Huber
“I've be a pretty avid reader of the Economist for a number of years. It doesn't align exactly with my political values but I've always found the writing to be of high quality, even if I don't agree with their opinions per-se. I feel like it has a good selection of articles on local and geo-politics, culture, technology, and of course finance/economics. In the last year, I've found the quality of it to have plummeted. As such, I'm debating on an alternative that fills the niche it has beside my morning coffee. My question to you all is, does anyone have favorite of theirs that is comparable in quality, breadth, and is available in print not just digital?” - Hacker News
Note: I think there’s an opportunity in bundling awesome Substack posts and shipping them as a print magazine. Really just following the usual pattern of bundling→unbundling→bundlings.
“I wish Amazon let me filter by country. In fact, I’d love to see some kind of meta shopping experience do exactly that. All I ever find is random small time websites that are outdated and minimal content for “made in USA”. For certain categories I’d prefer other countries or at least some options. I’m surprised the “America first” lobby hasn’t tried to accomplish something like this. Vote with your wallet if you really want manufacturing back.” - Hacker News
“A personalized nutrition and wellness coaching service. This service could leverage ChatGPT's natural language processing capabilities to provide personalized meal plans and workout recommendations based on the user's specific goals and preferences. The service could also incorporate features such as daily check-ins and progress tracking to help users stay on track and achieve their health and wellness goals. By utilizing ChatGPT, this service could provide a convenient and personalized experience for users looking to improve their health and wellness.” - ChatGPT’s answer when I asked: “What's your best business idea that can be built on ChatGPT?”

👨🎓 Framework
The Framework: How to make your offer stand out.
Explanation: Yes, people want the best version of anything which is why the winners in any category reap disproportional rewards. But the good news is that there’s never one universally optimal solution. Instead, you can turn your product or service into the most attractive option for certain people by optimizing one or multiple core attributes.
Examples:
Location: Made in USA.
Story: This Guy Is Launching 12 Startups in 12 Months
Values: A privacy-friendly Google Analytics alternative
Distribution: It appeared at the top of the App Store listings.
Customer Service: Talk directly to the founder in case you encounter any issues.
Packaging, Quality, Reputation, Features…

🧙♂️Earned Insight
Michael Corso is the founder of disABLEDperson, “one of the premier disability job boards.”
How did you spot the gap in the market for disABLEDperson?
Everything comes out of need. I am a person with a disability. I had a thriving Chiropractic practice and became disabled. My wife and I first started disABLEDperson simply as an online magazine. Just something to do. It morphed. The community kept asking us to help them find work. We listened.
💸 Revenue Signals
Judge.me is at $5.2 million ARR. (“Boost Sales With Product Reviews!”)
“Santa Claus is big business. I met a guy who retired from an electrical union early. Said he makes $100k from December 1st to December 25th.” - Source

Love the print Substack idea... there is something about reading without being connected to the Internet... One could totally imagine setting up simple interface that enables people to opt into a monthly magazine version of the top posts from their substack subscriptions... maybe DALL-E could help with the illustrations.
Hi Jakob, thanks for another great issue.
