🤫 Schemers - Monday 30 June 2025
Hey,
On the menu this week: startup Twitter’s favorite delusion, a better micro-acquisition platform, smart risks incumbents can’t take, and an adult field trip idea.
Let’s get into it.
🤔 fantasy roadmap
If there is one genre of tweets that needs to die it’s the pseudo-motivation “it’s so easy” posts.
“just vibe code a saas get it to $50k it’s so easy.”
“You just need 100 customers paying you $100/month and you have a $10k/month business!!!!”
Building a profitable online business is difficult and a ton of hard work. Everyone who claims otherwise is a charlatan. Setting false expectations is not helping anyone besides the charlatans promoting a fantasy.
🫵 micro startups
Buying or selling a tiny startup? Most marketplaces are chaos. Tire-kickers. Fluff. Junk.
Microns.io is different. Vetted deals. Zero noise.
If you're serious, it's where you look.

🤯 asymmetric bets
This is a great blog post by the Ramp co-founder.
I like it because it gives specific examples of asymmetric bets to take:
hiring for the slope not experience
working with up-and-coming vendors instead of established ones
build what users should want not what they tell you they want
These kind of risks are exactly your advantage as an early-stage company.
All incumbents are laser focused on capping their downside a la “no one ever got fired for buying IBM”. If you try to copy their best practices there is no way you can win.
🤠 adult field trips
Someone please build this.
As more and more stuff moves online, all excuses to get out into the real world will boom.
