competitors
good reminder that the number of already existing companies should never be a factor when deciding what to work on
there’s always room for faster, cheaper, or simply less shitty

pricing psychology
pricing psychology is so insanely counter intuitive and it’s always worth testing “dumb” ideas
weekly pricing only seems to make sense if customers planned to use the product for a short time anyway and are looking for the cheapest price + quickest way to cancel
but maybe I’m wrong and customers really to value flexibility at a huge premium
costco model
speaking of pricing this seems like a fun model to think through
softgen is one of the hundreds “build anything you want just by vibe prompting” platforms and their main differentiator is the pricing model: “$33/year. That's it. Only pay usage tokens when you're actively building. No predatory monthly subscriptions. No gotchas.”
indie hacking
indie hacking is dead
the issue with paid ads was always that you’re competing against established companies that exactly know their numbers and can easily outspend you plus VC funded startups that are fine losing a ton of money
social was a channel that worked for a while but now well-funded companies have started to play the same game and it’s much harder to get attention
indie hacking is so back
