10x paralysis-by-analysis, job board insights, business ideas from podcasts, permission to change
10x
I’ve been re-reading 10x is easier than 2x by Benjamin Hardy and it remains one of my favourite business books (Benjamin’s new book is awesome too and covers a lot of the same ideas)
paralysis-by-analysis is one of the biggest enemies of any founder and aiming for 10x is one of the few practical tools to get out of it
most ideas will never get you anywhere close to where you want to go if you look at them honestly
being serious about reaching a 10x goal means you have to say no to and get rid of almost everything else
“10x requires you to become uniquely masterful in a narrowing 20 percent wherein you produce something innovative, valuable, and of rare quality. […] To make something 10x better involves deep, deep work. Innovation occurs as you break everything down and put it back together in a simpler, easier, and better form.”
this also means there is much less competition since hardly anyone is laser focused on nailing just one thing

job board insights
interesting thread by a guy running https://sustainablejobs.nl
job boards always seemed to me like one of the coolest businesses you can build but are insanely hard to get off the ground
podscan ideas
cool project by Arvid, he built a huge database of podcast transcripts and is now using AI to dig up business opportunities:
permission to change
just a friendly reminder that just because you’ve been a specific kind of person for a while or were doing things a certain way, it doesn’t mean you have to keep going like this
people will always try to push you towards the image they have of you. “but you’ve said…”, “but you’ve always…”, “I thought you’re not …”, “but since when do you…?”
you’re allowed to pivot. You’re allowed to be inconsistent.
in the words of Richard Feynman “You are under no obligation to remain the same person you were a year ago, a month ago, or even a day ago.”
